ABOUT ME
My name is Joey Welsh, and I am a NYC performer originally from Vienna, Virginia.

I began my journey as a performer at Cornell University; between fulfilling my Mathematics major and competing in Varsity Sprint Football games, I pursued a minor in Theater and began acting in my very first productions. That being said, I exercised my love for entertaining long before college, incorporating comedic impressions, piano and trombone instrumentation, and dance routines into any presentational opportunity I was given. Since graduating, I have performed in Off-Broadway theaters from Ithaca to NYC, ranging from Tennessee Williams One-Acts to sketch comedy with Upright Citizen Brigade's House Sketch Comedy Teams. Most recently, I have been fortunate enough to debut multiple new works at the Actor's Studio Playwright/Directors Unit and perform sketch comedy with UCB's premiere weekend team ASSSSKETCH.

Notable influences on my work include Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell, Robin Williams, Chris Tucker, Andy Serkis, Rowan Atkinson, Steve Carell, and more. Most notably, though, are my mother, my father, and my friends, who have all shaped my confidence and comedic sensibilities to this day.
